Pittsford Streambank Repair

During the late summer of 2014 Markowski Excavating started this project in Pittsford, Vt.  Working for the NRCS, Markowski Excavating was put to the task of stabilizing the river bank before it gave way to an existing pond on the opposite side.  Due to its remote location, a temporary 1,000′ road was installed and 750 cubic yards of 3′ rock was hauled in.  A large excavator with an added stick allowed the machine to reach 50′ from the cab in order to place the rock in the desired location.

What started as a walkway that was unsafe to cross due to erosion, now exists a 12 foot wide path that connects the rest of the Pittsford Walking Trails
